Rick has over 30 years of experience providing investment decision analysis, asset management, technical, development, and advisory services to the hospitality and tourism industry. Over the course of his consulting career, Rick has directed, managed, or worked directly on 4,500+ proposed and/or existing hospitality/tourism-related projects located throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America during his tenure. The aggregate value of these projects represents well in excess of $15 billion in investment activity.
His experience spans all aspects of development and acquisition functions of a hotel, from initial due diligence to asset management and disposition. Specific areas include economic, market, financial, and operational analyses; due diligence; operational review; valuation/appraisal; for branded and independent hotels and other hospitality real estate worldwide on behalf of the public and private sector clients. Rick has been both a principal and Owner’s Representative in the acquisition and/or development of new and existing hotel real estate, as well as hotel debt purchase. He periodically provides expert witness services on a variety of issues related to hotels, including operations, budgeting management and franchise agreements, valuation, CapEx, sales and marketing, and operations.
